Harmony and Horses offers a dynamic and enriching Equine Assisted Learning program specifically designed for homeschool families. Our unique approach integrates academic and social-emotional development through engaging, hands-on activities with horses. These programs provide a powerful and memorable learning experience that enhances traditional homeschool education. Our programs are fully inclusive and we welcome students with all learning styles, abilities, and support needs. We are able to support IEP and neurodiversity-affirming ABA goals through our programs. All programs are non-sectarian in nature.
All of our programs can be adapted to fit your homeschool group or pod’s needs and schedule.
Program Offerings
Fall 2024
Horse Powered Reading
Our reading sessions utilize the intuitive nature of horses to engage students in literacy activities. Participants improve their reading skills through interactive and movement-based exercises that make learning fun and effective. Learn more by visiting the Hope with Horses program page!
Horse Powered Reading® uniquely blends social-emotional learning with academic skills. Students engage with horses and use toys and props to visualize and overcome obstacles, maintaining and enhancing their reading skills through the summer months. They learn five critical reading skills: phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
Horse Powered Math:
Math concepts come to life in our horse-powered math sessions. Students engage in activities that incorporate mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking, using real-life scenarios and physical interaction with horses to solidify their understanding. · Horse Powered Reading: Wednesdays from 11:00-12:30, from 10/23/24-12/4/24.
· Horse Powered Math: Thursdays from 1:00-2:30, from 10/24/24-12/5/24
(No class the week of Thanksgiving)
· Each group is limited to six participants
The cost for the 6-week program is $350 per student and
$600 per student if you sign up for both programs!
10% sibling discount available.
Sessions are held at Triumph Ranch in San Marcos, CA.
Horse Powered Social-Emotional Skills:
Developing social and emotional skills is crucial for overall well-being. Our sessions focus on emotional regulation, self-awareness, assertiveness, and boundary-setting. Through guided interactions with horses, students learn to navigate their emotions and improve their interpersonal skills.

Private Sessions:
For more personalized attention, we offer private sessions tailored to the individual needs of each student. These one-on-one sessions provide focused support in any of the areas above as well as supporting mental health needs, ensuring that each participant receives the guidance they need to thrive. Private Coaching and Tutoring:
For children 10 and up, sessions are 1 hour long. Participants engage in
various ground-based activities, such as leading a horse through an obstacle course,
grooming, or observing and reflecting on horse behavior within a herd. Therapeutic riding
may also be incorporated as a way to deepen the connection with the horse.
These activities help develop trust, communication skills, and an understanding of
non-verbal cues. These sessions focus on personal growth and coaching to help
students navigate social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Horse Powered Reading and Math can also be taught in this private
setting. We will confirm scheduling with you once you have booked.
Single 60-Minute Session: $150
Package of 3 Sessions: $425
Package of 5 Sessions: $700
Pony Playtime
Children under 10 can delight in our private 1:1 pony playtime sessions,
where they experience hands-on healing through playful interactions with our gentle ponies.
These sessions are thoughtfully designed to engage young participants
in a variety of activities that promote emotional well-being and enjoyment!

Single 45-Minute Session: $50
(Not available for PCA students)
Team Building Group Workshops:
Harmony and Horses also offers single half-day and full-day team building group workshops for homeschool groups, Scouts troops, clubs, and more! Participants learn about teamwork, verbal and non-verbal communication, problem solving, empathy, and relationships through structured activities with horses followed by a group discussion.

Half-Day (3 Hours): $175 per participant
Full-Day (6 Hours): $350 per participant

For those looking for a more tailored experience, we can create custom programs for homeschool groups or pods. Contact us to design a program that meets your group's specific educational goals, needs, and schedule. Fees are $350 per student up to six students per group for a 6-week program. For larger groups or a shorter/longer program, please contact us!
